I picked up a new macro lens, shorter than the 105mm, to compensate for the 1.5 multiplication of the nominal focal length of a 35mm lens. Now my regular setup works the way it used to, and here's another shot, full size, showing the chain and bail attached to my Koroit opal. Another full sized slice of an image of the Koroit opal, showing the bottom of the stone and a section of the bezel with the solder joint visible. Some people (I, at least) can see a face in the opal. Here's its right eye.
